About me

hi, Im Ames,

I am a mum to two busy little boys and we live in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. I have always had a passion for creating beautiful photos, and documenting important memories, ever since I was a child. I studied photography in high school when we still had a darkroom and old black and white film cameras! I'm grateful to have learned the old school way of creating photographs before the world switched to digital because it gave me an appreciation for photography as an art form, as a creative expression

and so much more than just clicking a button. I shoot everything from weddings to pets. I have been perfecting my art on and off for over 15 years whilst working as a vet nurse and wildlife carer. 

 

After becoming a mum in 2019, I realised for myself that what they say is true! How quickly our kids change and grow is incredible and just way too fast. This sparked my new passion for capturing children and their milestones, more than ever, which then eventuated into opening my own home studio in 2022.


Silky Oak studio is now my newest passion for creating beautiful images of your newborns and children and capturing all of their incredible milestones. Silky oak studio is located in Tallai, not far from the M1 at Mudgeeraba. See Gallery below.
